Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Your soul is more important than this whole world or the whole universe. Why? Because it was paid by the blood of God itself (Acts 20:28). It would be so foolish of you if you will exchange it for the whole world today but suffer later in the Lake of Fire than to give up the world today in following Christ and spend eternity later without suffering. It’s your choice. It is a fatal equivalent of selling your birthright for a bowl of porridge.

If you want to endure the suffering now and enjoy for all eternity later, then do not spend your life on earthly things that have no eternal value. Store treasures in heaven and someday, you will reap them.
