The God Who can make the Unclean Clean

Job 14:4 “Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!”

There is no doubt that the trials of Job where long and very difficult. During that time, he began to despair of life itself. In the passage above, Job is aware of his sin and seeking deliverance, asks the question “who can make the clean out of the unclean?” Job’s answer, due to his current state of mind, is “No one!” It is indeed true that no man can make himself clean. If we were to attempt such a thing, how long would our own efforts of being clean last? But it is also true that we have a God who can, on the basis of what our Lord Jesus did on the cross, make the clean out of the unclean!

Who can make the unclean clean? Only God can. And thankfully, God does.
