In our journey through this earthly life, one profound truth that often goes unnoticed is how every single life, especially that of a believer, impacts others. Whether we see it or not, whether we feel it or not, our lives have a ripple effect on those around us, for good or for ill. As true followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to be vessels that God can use to bring forth His divine change, especially in this critical grace period where the Lord is actively and earnestly reaching out to the lost and searching souls. Your life, dear believer, is far more valuable than you might ever realize, and God has a specific, eternal purpose for you that far exceeds anything the world can measure or understand.
YOUR LIFE MATTERS
Think of yourself being a child of God, as more significant in His eyes than thousands of worldly things combined. Why? Because you carry the Spirit of God within you. Other people can impart earthly knowledge, but you as a believer, have the divine potential to bring forth Truth—the absolute. Truth that never changes lives not just for time, but for all eternity. The physical things we see around us, all the systems and philosophies of man, are merely by-products, often corrupted, of the original, perfect Truth that is found only in God Himself.
The very fact that you have not quit, that you are still standing, still holding on, is enough evidence that God wants to use you. Your perseverance, often in the face of unseen battles, has the inherent power to impact someone’s life, even when you are completely unaware of it. Your trials, your struggles, your private victories in Christ, can serve as a powerful inspiration for others who are watching. You may feel unnoticed, you may feel alone, but rest assured, someone somewhere is looking at your life and being encouraged because you are holding fast to your faith in the living God.
If you hold fast to the Truth of God’s Word and remain steadfast in your faith, the Lord will use you in ways you cannot even begin to imagine. The devil, our adversary, knows this full well, and that is precisely why he is constantly, relentlessly trying to make you give up, to discourage you, to make you doubt God’s promises. He knows that if you continue steadfastly in your faith, you will become a beacon of hope to others and that is exactly what he fears and despises.
THE STORY OF THE BLEEDING WOMAN
Consider the poignant story of the woman with an issue of bleeding, so powerfully described in Mark 5:25-34. This dear woman had suffered terribly for twelve long years, enduring not only the physical pain but also the deep shame and isolation of her condition. She had spent all her earthly wealth seeking medical help from various physicians, but instead of getting better, her situation only grew worse. This was not just a physical burden; it affected her entire life, her relationships, her standing in the community. According to the Jewish law of that time, her constant bleeding made her ceremonially unclean, meaning, she was socially ostracized and unable to participate in community life or religious activities (Leviticus 15:25-27).
However, everything changed when the Lord Jesus came into her life. Somehow, by God’s grace, she received a divine revelation, a spark of living faith, and she came to believe with all her heart that if she could just touch the very hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. Now, touching Jesus in her unclean condition would have, according to the strict interpretation of Jewish law, made Him unclean. But remember this: no one can make God unclean. Even if you impute all the sins of this world to our Lord Jesus, nothing can make Him unclean. He is the Light of this world. And this divine Light transforms anyone and anything that comes into genuine contact with Him.
Perhaps you find yourself in a similar situation today, dear believer. You may have received many prayers from well-meaning people, listened to countless sermons, read numerous books on healing or breakthrough, and tried everything you could possibly think of to find your healing or deliverance. Yet, despite all your efforts, nothing seems to work. It is vitally important to understand that it is not always God’s immediate will for your sickness or your pressing problem to be instantly solved. God has a perfect plan, a higher purpose, and sometimes, that purpose is far greater and more far-reaching than our immediate healing or relief.
The Apostle Paul himself evidently had some form of sickness, a “thorn in the flesh,” and yet he still powerfully carried out his God-given ministry (Galatians 4:13, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10). Timothy, his spiritual son, had frequent stomach problems and other ailments (1 Timothy 5:23). Other faithful followers of Christ, like Trophimus and Epaphroditus, also experienced sickness during their service to the Lord (2 Timothy 4:20; Philippians 2:25-30). God’s ways are indeed higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, and He alone knows the right time and the perfect way for everything.
God is the one who ultimately brings the increase, the healing, the deliverance (1 Corinthians 3:6). Just like that dear bleeding woman, there may be something deep within you, a seed of faith, that knows, beyond all doubt, that God is with you, that He has not forgotten you. That divine knowledge, that inner witness of the Spirit, is what drives you to keep seeking Him, to keep pressing on, despite all obstacles and discouragements. When you are willing to push through the crowds of doubt, fear, human reasoning and disappointment, you will find that one genuine touch from the Lord Jesus changes everything.
In that sacred moment when she touched Him, twelve long years of suffering, frustration, shame, and sorrow meant absolutely nothing. It was all worth it because she had touched the One Who could truly make her whole. Many people physically touched the Lord Jesus that day as He moved through the crowd, but only her touch got His immediate attention. Why? Because her touch was filled with living faith, a faith born of desperation and divine revelation.
GRACE IS ACCESSED BY FAITH
We can only access God’s amazing grace through faith (Romans 5:1-2). When the woman came forward, trembling and fearful, she was afraid because her action of touching Jesus in her condition was, in a sense, a public transgression of the ceremonial law. But the Lord, in His infinite love and compassion, addressed her not with condemnation, but with tender love, calling her “Daughter.” This was far more than just a physical healing—it was a complete restoration of her identity, her dignity, her place in God’s family. Her faith was recognized, honored and she was lovingly embraced by the Savior.
FAITH IS CONTAGIOUS
What is truly remarkable and inspiring is that her story didn’t just end with her personal healing. The ripple effect of her faith was profound. In Mark 6:56, we read that people began bringing their sick to Jesus from all the surrounding villages, laying them in the marketplaces, and begging Him that they might touch just the edge of His robe, “and as many as touched him were made whole.” Where did they get such an idea? Most likely from hearing the powerful testimony of the woman who had been miraculously healed from her twelve-year issue of bleeding! Her story of suffering, her desperate struggle, and her triumphant faith inspired others to push through their own obstacles and reach out to touch the Lord.
This, dear believer, is why the enemy, Satan, tries so desperately hard to discourage you, to defeat you, to make you quit. He knows that your story, your testimony of God’s faithfulness in your life, is dangerous to his dark plans. When people see you living for Christ, persevering in faith despite your trials, it sparks faith in them. Your words, your actions, your very life lived in surrender to God, are powerful spiritual weapons that can encourage others to come to Jesus. When your story of God’s grace is told, it brings hope to the hopeless. People will hear and say, “If God can do it for them, surely He can do it for me too!” That is precisely why you must never, ever quit. As long as you are alive and breathing, God can use you, and someday, in eternity, someone will come and thank you for being the vessel that God used to change their life.
UNIQUE PEOPLE BORN TO IMPACT OTHERS
In every generation, there are individuals uniquely chosen and equipped by God to impact others for His Kingdom. You may not feel like one of those “special” people, you may feel ordinary and insignificant. But if you are in Christ, then you are already an integral part of God’s divine plan to make a difference in this world. You may not stand in front of thousands, you may not have a well-known ministry, but you may be the very person who impacts one life for eternity, and that one life, in turn, could go on to impact millions. You never fully know the extent of God’s intricate plan, but you can, and must, trust that He has one, and you are a part of it.
God wants you to understand, deep in your spirit, that your life is supremely significant to Him. Don’t give up. Don’t let the hardships, the sickness, the financial struggles, or the emotional pains of this fallen life convince you that your life doesn’t matter or that God has forgotten you. The very fact that you are still holding on, still seeking His face, means that God is not done with you yet. You have a divine purpose that extends far beyond what you can see or comprehend right now. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, and know that your perseverance, your quiet faithfulness, is planting seeds of hope and faith in the hearts of others. Keep pushing through, keep believing, keep looking unto Jesus, and know that your story, lived out for His glory, is making a profound difference, one person, one prayer, one act of kindness at a time.
So, let us all be deeply encouraged to press on, to run with patience the race that is set before us in our Christian walk. No matter what trials or tribulations we may face, let us always remember that we are impacting lives for eternity through our unwavering faith and God-enabled perseverance. Our trials and our victories, when offered to God, serve as powerful testimonies that can inspire and draw others to find their way to our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are indeed vessels of His grace, and our God is faithfully using us, even in our imperfections, to bring His glorious light to a world that desperately needs it. Amen.
