Rev. 10:3-4 “And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.”
The doctrine of the Seven Thunders is an integral part of the Endtime Message as preached by Bro. William Branham and embraced by many within the message of Malachi 4:5-6. In exploring this teaching, it is essential to understand the progressive phases of salvation, both on an individual and corporate scale within the Church, as well as the unique and transformative role of the Seven Thunders in bringing the Bride of Christ to a state of readiness for the Rapture.
The Three Phases of Individual Redemption
Before tackling the 7 Thunders, we need to know first about the threefold process of Salvation of each child of God:
1. Regeneration (Quickening of the Spirit)
Eph. 2:5 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
Ephesians 2:5 describes how God, even when we were dead in sins, quickened us together with Christ. This is the first phase of our complete salvation. This is when an individual hears the Gospel, believes, and receives new life in Christ. It’s marked by zeal and a fresh excitement for the things of God. Our spirit receives the Spirit of God that is Eternal Life.
This phase happens in a relatively short period and is the moment of being born again, when the believer’s spirit is quickened and made alive by the Holy Spirit.
2. Transformation of the Soul
Rom. 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2 speaks of being transformed by the renewing of the mind. This is the second phase where sanctification occurs, and the believer grows in holiness, learning to walk in the Spirit while being conformed to Christ’s image. Our Soul is being transformed here.
This is the longest and often the most challenging phase of salvation, characterized by trials, temptations, and daily struggles against the flesh. It’s the time of spiritual maturing.
3. Glorification of the Body
1 Cor. 15:52-53 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
1 Corinthians 15:52-53 and Philippians 3:21 declare that in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall be changed. This final phase of our salvation refers to the resurrection or Glorification of our mortal bodies. Our body is being glorified and made like Christ’s resurrected body.
This phase will occur at the Rapture, where those who are alive and remain will be changed, and those who have died in Christ will be resurrected.
The Three Phases of the Church’s Redemption and the Roles of the 7 Thunders
Just as individual believers go through a process of redemption, so too does the Church as a corporate body of Christ. This is also where the roles of the 7 Thunders come in:
1. Restoration to the Word by the Shout:
The Shout is the first phase of this redemption, as revealed in 1 Thessalonians 4:16, and is identified with Bro. William Branham’s Message. He is the forerunner of the Groom stated in Matthew 25:6 with a Midnight Cry or Shout. Brother Branham’s ministry is the Shout, calling the Bride back to the Apostolic faith and preparing her for Christ’s coming.
During this phase, the Church experienced a restoration of truth and an outpouring of miracles, signs, and wonders, reigniting faith across the globe. All of these are to point the Bride back to the Word.
2. Transformation through the Five-Fold Ministry (Voice of the Archangel):
The second phase is the Voice of the Archangel, which is the role of the Five-Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13). In this phase, the Bride is being perfected and made without spot or wrinkle. She is being transformed through the ministry of the Five-Fold.
This is the time when the Bride concentrates on the Word, that despite a lack of outward miracles, the Church is being transformed inwardly, growing in holiness, understanding, and unity of the faith. It’s the period of “boring” growth, yet this is crucial for the Bride’s spiritual maturity.
3. Glorification through the Seven Thunders (Trump of God):
The final phase is the Trump of God (1 Thes. 4:16), which will be performed by the Seven Thunders. They will sound as the Trump of God and will give us a distinct and unique message that will bring the Bride into a full Rapturing Faith. The Seven Thunders will release a message so powerful that it will give faith to the Bride who hears it and will their bodies, preparing them for the Rapture.
The Seven Thunders will produce an inner revival within the Bride, and this revival will coincide with the resurrection of the dead in Christ, who will appear to the living Bride, confirming that the Rapture is imminent.
The Unique Message of the Seven Thunders
The Seven Thunders have a message that has not been previously revealed or written in the Bible. Revelation 10:4 tells us that John was instructed to seal up the things which the Seven Thunders uttered and not to write them. This hidden mystery will be revealed to the Bride at the appointed time, providing her with the faith necessary for the final glorification.
Unlike the Shout and the Voice of the Archangel, the Seven Thunders will not be a repetition of previous messages. It will be a distinct message that delivers Rapturing Faith, transforming the Bride into her glorified state. This will be a secret revival, not visible to the world but deeply powerful within the Bride. As the resurrected saints appear to the living Bride, their testimonies will boost the faith of the living, enabling them to be ready for their own glorification.
The Significance of the Resurrection and the Rapture
Just as the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, and the Old Testament saints rose with Him (Matthew 27:52-53), showing themselves to many in Jerusalem, the same will happen in the end time. The ministry of the Seven Thunders will usher in the resurrection of the dead in Christ. These resurrected saints will appear to the living Bride as a final confirmation that the Rapture is at hand.
Forty Days of Testimony: Just as the Lord Jesus and the Old Testament saints remained on Earth for 40 days after the resurrection, so too will the resurrected saints in the end time show themselves to the Bride. Their presence will boost the faith of the living saints, enabling their bodies to be transformed.
Personal Revelation: During this time, the saints who have been resurrected will appear to the believers who will be raptured. Each believer may see and encounter the saints who have impacted their spiritual journey—those who led them to Christ, mentors, or even family members in the Lord. This personal interaction will strengthen their faith for the Rapture.
Conclusion: The Seven Thunders and the Bride’s Final Preparation
The Seven Thunders represent the final and most powerful phase of the Bride’s redemption. It is through their message that the Bride will be prepared for her transfiguration and the Rapture. As individuals experience personal salvation in three stages, so the Church, as the body of Crhist, is also being quickened, transformed, and finally glorified.
The Seven Thunders will usher in a secret revival that will be hidden from the world but will awaken the Bride to her final preparation. As the resurrected saints appear to the living Bride, the final moments of the Church’s journey will culminate in the glorious reunion with Christ. The Trump of God will sound through the Seven Thunders, and the Bride will be ready for the great translation into glory.
Oh what a day that will be! Praise God for His unfailing plan of redemption.
