Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
How will you respond if you heard God ask “Who will go for us?” This is what Isaiah heard in a vision of Heavenly realm. The Lord asked: “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” This is interesting because God being omniscient and omnipotent, still asks who will go for Him. In other words, though God can do anything He wants, He still chooses to use weak vessels to do His bidding (Isa. 66:2). This included Isaiah during his days, and this could also include you and me today.
God hasn’t changed and is still using people like you and me to carry out His will. This is both a privilege and a responsibility. So back to our question: How will you respond if you heard God say “Who will go for us?” Honestly, if I will to be asked by this, I would probably say: “First, what exactly is the task Lord? Where is it that you wanted me to go?” My answer would probably rely on what the task is! Isaiah of course didn’t think like this. Having seen God’s glory, he was quick to answer “HERE I AM. SEND ME!” In other words, he says: “Here I am Lord! Pick me, pick me!” Perhaps if we knew our Lord better just like Isaiah, we could also trust and rely on our Lord wherever He would send us to go, realizing that in all that He asks us to do, He will be with us.
