No Appetite to Eat

Mat. 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.”

According to the verse above, the Word of God is our spiritual food. In the natural, we know that if a person is sick, that person has usually no appetite to eat. The same also in the spiritual. When a person is sick spiritually, you will have a hard time encouraging that person to eat the Word of God. So whenever you encounter a person who has no appetite to hear the Word of God, to read the Bible, or even refuse to go to church, keep in mind that that person is spiritually sick.

The only way to cure these people is to force themselves to eat to get those nutrients that can cure them even if it tastes bitter to them. You can’t really enjoy the food if you are sick, it will taste bitter to you. I remember when I was young and had flu, I don’t have an appetite to eat because every food taste bitter to me. But then my mom will do everything to force me to eat soups to nourish my body. She knew that it was the only way that I can be healed again. This is also the same in the spiritual. You need to force yourself to eat, if you want to get better.
