Isa. 22:23 “I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will be a seat of honor for the house of his father.”
Whenever I got home from work, I used to hang my jacket or my trousers on the nails at the back of our door. One time, one of those nails fell off and I was reminded of the verse above that talks about Eliakim (the resurrection of God) being the nail (peg) in a firm place. He types our Lord Jesus Christ Who is our only nail in a firm place.
Have you ever experienced this also? Where you put your jacket in the nail on the wall but that nail fails off? Many of us today are hanging everything we have on something that is not firm. For instance, in making investments. I was once trusted a stock broker who told me to invest in a particular stock because it will never fail. But then it fails and I and my wife saving were gone. That man and that stock wasn’t a nail in a firm place. I have also trusted a pastor before and have found that he was not a nail in a firm place. Everything else will fail us. Only Our Lord Jesus is a nail in a firm place. I hope you are hanging your life and everything you have on Him.
