Speaking the Truth with Boldness and Love

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”

Joseph’s story is one of courage and unwavering faith. After sharing his first dream and facing rejection and hostility from his brothers, he had every reason to remain silent when God gave him another dream. But Joseph didn’t water it down, soften the message, or keep it to himself out of fear. He spoke what God had shown him with honesty and courage. This boldness brought Joseph down to the pit. Had he kept back his testimony, or taken off ought of its edge and power, he might have spared himself; but no; he told them the truth, and therefore they hated him.

This boldness foreshadows the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the ultimate Truth-bearer. Jesus didn’t just speak the truth—He was the truth. Every word He spoke carried divine revelation and uncompromising love. Yet, His testimony was met with rejection, betrayal, and ultimately, the cross.

We live in a world where speaking God’s truth can sometimes feel risky. The fear of rejection, misunderstanding, or even hostility can tempt us to remain silent or to dilute the message. But just as Joseph and Jesus were faithful to their calling, we too are called to share God’s word boldly, in both love and truth.

Truth without love can wound, and love without truth can mislead. But when we speak God’s truth in love, it becomes a powerful testimony that points others to Christ. Make it a goal to share God’s word—whether through a conversation, a social media post, or a written note—at least once a week. Speak truth, and trust God with the results.
