Gen. 39:4 “Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.”
We can learn from Joseph – Joseph was a SERVANT. Whether it was with Potiphar, in the dungeon or under Pharaoh himself, Joseph was a servant. And he served his master well because he first and foremost served the Lord. This was the opposite of the disciples’ disagreement when they discussed who amongst them was the greatest! Ha… just imagine! Can you remember what the Lord said to them?
Luke 22:25-26 “Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. BUT YOU ARE NOT TO BE LIKE THAT. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.”
Our Lord came to serve and so should we. So we can learn from Joseph here, and obviously the Lord. And we can learn from the disciples… on what not to do!
