Mark 16:7 “But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.”
It was the resurrection day. Mary the Mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and Salome came to the tomb to anoint the body of the Lord with spices. But they are in shock when they got there because what they have found is an open tomb and the body of the Lord is not there anymore. Then they saw an angel telling them not to be afraid and to tell the disciples to go their way for they shall see Him in Galilee. “But go your way, tell his disciples AND PETER…”
Why do you think the Apostle Peter was specifically emphasized here? Why is it that they should tell, Peter specifically, that the Lord has risen? The reason is, of all the disciples, it was Peter who cannot forgive himself about what He did to His Lord. He was the one who said that he wouldn’t let the Lord die, not on his watch. But He was also the one who betrayed His Lord 3 times. He left His Lord. He betrayed Him. No matter how I look at it, we are all like Peter. We have betrayed our Lord many times. But said “Go, tell the disciples AND PETER… that he don’t need to worry, I have forgiven him. I still love Him. Please tell Him that I am alive… and I will go and see him in Galillee.”
I hope just like Peter, we will also realize that the Lord always wants to forgive us. We just need to go back to Him. And surely, He will meet us. So go back to Him!
