Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
A new year often brings excitement, but it can also bring uncertainty. The unknown can feel overwhelming—the challenges, the changes, the risks we must take. But God’s word in Joshua 1:9 offers us a powerful reminder: We are not alone.
When God called Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, it was a daunting task. Yet, God didn’t just give Joshua a mission; He gave him a promise: “I will be with you wherever you go.” That same promise is ours today.
Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s moving forward despite fear, knowing that God walks beside us. Whatever this year brings—opportunities, trials, or unknown paths—we can face it boldly because the Creator of the universe goes before us, stands beside us, and protects us from behind. When fear or doubt creeps in, declare this verse aloud: “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid” (Psalm 118:6).
