In the entire New Testament, only the Lord Jesus uses Amen at the beginning of a sentence as a word of affirmation. Throughout the Gospel of John, the Lord uses the word Amen. It is doubled in John 1:51 “Amen, amen, I say unto you,” or “Verily, verily, I say unto you,” which could be rendered, “I who am the Amen [Truth itself] tell you as a most certain and infallible truth.”

In the verse above, the Lord Jesus introduces Himself to this Church as the Amen, the faithful and true witness. Amen means “Truth, steady, trust worthy”. When you hear something you agree with you say ‘Amen!’ You are confirming the truth. Now, the Lord Jesus is the Amen. He is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He is the trust worthy One. He is the faithful and true witness
