Col. 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
The fullness of being God dwelt in Christ. He is all that we need to know about God, and He is all that we need to know about man. He is the fullness of Truth. As a man, our Lord knew that all the illimitable resources of deity had been vested in Him. For although He was in the beginning with God, and was God, and is God and although as the Creative Word, all things were made by Him when He came to this earth, in the very fullest sense of the term, He became Man. But He became Man as God intended man to be, and behaved as God intended man to behave, a perfect man so to speak. Walking day by day in that relationship to the Father which God had always intended should exist between man and Himself.
He knew that in His perfection as man, God had vested in Him all that He intended to vest in man. In other words, man in perfection has an unlimited access upon the inexhaustible supply of deity. To put it another way, all the inexhaustible supplies of God are available to the man who is available to all the inexhaustible supplies of God! And the Lord Jesus Christ was that Man! He was Man in perfection – totally, unrelentingly, unquestioningly available and that is why it was available to Him all that to which he was available also.
