John 6:20 “But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”
Trivia for 100 points: “In the Bible, what command did the Lord Jesus give which is more than any other?” That’s right! It’s “Do not be afraid!”
Our Lord obviously knew human nature pretty well! He knew that we are prone to fear. Fear is often the favorite tool of the enemy to use against us. Fear is the greatest enemy of Faith. This is the reason why we must always remember that the Lord is with us. Faith is strengthened when we trust in the Lord. Trust is the key to conquer Fear. When we remembered those things that the Lord has already done into our lives, our trust grows and that’s how we can conquer our fears.
In the verse above, our Lord was reminding His disciples that even when He doesn’t seem close, He is still in total control, the eternal I AM. He is always with us.
