2 Kings 6:16 “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
Elisha is so calm in the verse above even though they are surrounded by the armies of Aram because he knows that “they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” This verse is very similar to 1 John 4:4 which says: “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”
I remember I read some amazing stories about the War of Independence in 1948 in Israel. Days after Israel became a nation again, 7 Arab countries with fully trained and equipped armies attacked Israel. There are only about 18,000 Jewish settlers at that time who just returned to Israel. Israel has still no armies. The Jewish settlers fought without even having a gun and without military training. And yet, there are miraculous stories of the Arabs fleeing for their lives because they saw great and mighty forces coming against them… even if there were in reality only a few Jewish settlers protecting the area. Now, that is God protecting His people because of His promises. And what did the Arabs see that made them flee if it was not a glimpse of the angels that protect God’s people in the unseen world?
