The Truth will Set Us Free

John 8:32 “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

If there is one thing that can set us free from all bondage and all cages, it is no other than the Truth. Our freedom is actually directly proportional to our possession of Truth. The more you possess the truth, the more you are free. It is always the action of the enemy to try to cage us by sowing seeds of error among the true seeds of God. If we end up with a gospel of half-truths, we’ll have converts that are half set free!

The belt of truth is one of the armor of God mentioned by Paul that functions to hold all the armor together. If your theology is loose, so is your belt of truth and then so is your armor, you are not completely free, trying to live the Christian life without the full armor (spiritual protection) that God provides! And that’s when the Christian life becomes a drag and a chore. You cannot fight in the battle effectively if your belt is loose.
