We must continually be Filled with the Spirit

Eph. 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.”

All born-again believers have the Holy Spirit according to Eph 1:13. In fact, if you do not have the Spirit, you do not belong to the Body of Christ (Rom 8:9). In addition to this, the verse above commands us to continually be filled with the Spirit. This is for us to reach “the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13).

The question is, “How can we be filled by the Spirit?” This is answered by John 6:63 “The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.” For us to be continually filled with the Spirit, we need to be continually filled by the Word. We need to continually eat the Word of God (Mat. 4:4). We need to regularly hear it so that we will grow.
