Rev. 1:1 “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.”
The Book of Revelation is called “Revelation,” not Revelations. Although there are many revelations that you can get from this book, but it is a singular revelation of Jesus Christ. The book is all about Him being revealed to us. He is the revelation.
The word Revelation in the Greek is ‘apokálupsis’. Apokálupsis, from which we get the word ‘apocalypse’. When we hear that we think of chaos and the end of the world. But the primary meaning of the Greek word ‘apokálupsis’ is not destruction but to ‘unveil, disclose, reveal’. It is the unveiling of Jesus! When Jesus came on earth the first time, it was in humility with veiled deity. The second coming is in power with an unveiled revelation of His deity, glory and majesty!
