Remember, Repent and Repeat

Rev. 2:5 “Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”

The Lord Jesus has three pieces of advice for the Church of Ephesus here: remember, repent and repeat. And this is not only applicable to the Church of Ephesus that time, this is also applicable to us every time we exeperience what that Church has experienced.

Feels like you have moved from having the Lord Jesus as your first love. Then remember His 3 “Rs”:

Remember – remember how things were in the past when you walked closely with Him. Remember all the things He did for you. Never did He fail you.

Repent – Change your mind and ways so that you walk in the way you should once again. Make a 90 degree turn from your direction.

Repeat – In your devotion to the Lord, repeat what you did in the early days when you first met Him. When you are so excited to know Him more.

This advice is applicable to us whenever we are discouraged and down.
