2 Pet. 1:1 “Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours.”
In this verse, Peter wants to remind us, his readers, that there are no 2nd class citizens in the Body of Christ. He writes “to those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours.” While we all tend to place certain people on a pedestal, Peter was quick to point out that all Christians have obtained the same precious faith, the same precious privileges.
And what is this precious faith? It is no other than the “Faith of the Lord Jesus Christ” (Rev. 14:12, Gal. 3:22). Anyone who belongs to the Body of Christ has the faith of Christ. So don’t put your Pastor, your Apostle or any minister on a pedestal. Christ alone should be the one to be glorified.
