1 Cor. 3:8 “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.”
Apart from the prophet Samuel, Jeremiah is one of the youngest prophets God has called to preach and prophesy to bring Judah back to God. He was only 20 years old when he was used by the Lord. His message was so popular that they banned him from the temple. Then the king liked his prophecies so much that he ordered all written documents from Jeremiah destroyed! Finally, they threw him in prison.
No wonder they called him the weeping prophet. The fact is, nobody repented or turned to God from his preaching. No converts. No success. And yet, when he stands before his maker he will hear “Well done good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of the Lord! Always remember that the scripture tells us we will be rewarded on the basis of our labor, not our results (1 Cor 3:8). Our Lord will congratulate you not on the result, but on your labor in doing His will, even if no one will listen.
