Mat. 24:44 “For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.”
Matthew 24 speaks of the rapture and other events before the Great Tribulation. There are different interpretations to this. Some believe that the Lord’s coming at the rapture is not referenced at all in Mathew 24. Others, who believe in a post-tribulation or pre-wrath rapture, see the rapture in verse 31. I personally believe in a Pre-Tribulation rapture.
I see Matthew 24:4-31 as the signs leading up to the second coming at the end of the tribulation in answer to the disciples question in verse 3 concerning His coming at the end of the age. But from verse 32 Jesus seems to go back to the start and speaks of a new sign to watch for – the sign of the fig tree budding again. His then starts speaking of His coming that is unexpected when life is going on as normal. This does not apply to a post-tribulation or pre-wrath rapture. It can only apply to a pre-tribulation rapture.
