Job 35:9-10 “Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help because of the arm of the mighty. But no one says, ‘Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night?’”
The “Songs in the Night” here are more than just singing in the night. It speaks of an attitude where you still decide to praise God despite the darkness of uncertainties that you are experiencing. Any man can sing during the day where everything can be seen and everything is sweet in your life. But only God can give songs in the night where you cannot see one step ahead and everything is going wrong in your life.
Maybe you’ve known someone who had a song in the night. Someone who was still able to praise God when circumstances say they shouldn’t be doing that! Maybe this is you. Psalm 69:29-31 says that this is something that pleases God – when you can still praise Him even in the darkness. If this is you, what an encouragement you are to other believers! What a witness you are to the world that God is alive! For it is only our Lord who can give us songs in the night!
