Ruth 2:2 “One day Ruth, the Moabite, said to Naomi, “I am going to the fields. Maybe someone will be kind enough to let me gather the grain he leaves behind.”
There are four people from the line of Abraham that stand as types of the Lord Jesus. First is Isaac, he was a clear picture of the promised son, the Lord Jesus, Who was sacrificed on our behalf. Next is Joseph who was rejected by his brothers a picture of The Lord Jesus and His relationship to His Jewish brothers (of things past and still to come). Third is Moses, the great prophet and deliverer. A picture of the Lord in His first and second coming. Fourth is Boaz, a man of great wealth and grace from the tribe of Judah who would act as a kinsman, he speaks directly of our redeemer, the Lord Jesus.
But do you know what else, as a type of Jesus, did all four of these men have in common? ALL OF THEM TOOK A GENTILE BRIDE/WIFE! Even early on God was showing what He would do with the Lord’s Bride! Rebekah was from Aram Nahariam. Joseph married the Egyptian Asenath. Moses married Zipporah from Midian. And Boaz married the lovely Ruth, the Moabite. What does this tell us? The Lord is taking a bride from every language, nation and tongue!
