Being a Poet is not an easy thing,
Writing Poems is the bravest way,
For a man to express his feelings
You know why?

If you’re not a poet and you’re sad,
You can just simply say that you’re sad
If you’re not a poet and you’re mad,
You can just simply say that you’re mad

If you’re not a poet and you’re in love
You can just simply say that you’re in love
If you’re not a poet and you want to sob
All you just have to do is to sob

But if you’re a poet, it is not like this at all
You dig deeper into the deepest part of your soul,
To set free those sad and unhappy feelings
And give them meaningful, and beautiful endings

First, you capture those thoughts from the bottom of your heart
And surrender them up to your spirit to start
But before you can do that, you need to face a hard thing
You need to battle the demons that come with those feelings

Then be ready for the bombardment of words
But bring only into captivity, those words that have worth
And the best part is when those words escape from your brain
For this is where poems, stories and songs are born from your pain

This is why a poem is not just a poem
It is our winnings from depression and sufferings
A poem is not just a poem
It is truth itself within us, that no liar can bring

Yes, a poem is not just a poem
It is a ray of light from the darkness, a phoenix from the ashes
A poem is not just a poem
It is our tearful joys, and our joyful tears

Finally, a poem is not just a poem
For everyday, inside all of us, are battles that we need to win
And it is much braver to face them in writing
Than pretend that nothing is happening
