1 Cor. 15:26 “The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
Death, the Bible says, is an enemy. It is the last enemy. Why is death an enemy? Because it should not be present in the first place. It is not included in the plan of God for us. It is not from God. Life is of God while death is the absence of Life, therefore, it is not from God. It is a result of sin (Rom. 6:23). If man did not sin, then, there should have been no death.
But the Lord Jesus destroyed death. It has no more sting. The Lord said “He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever believes in me will never die.” The Lord has brought life and immortality through the gospel. It is with the gospel that light is shone on eternal life and immorality and demonstrated through the victory that the Lord Jesus had over death in His resurrection.
