On Physical Sickness

Job 2:7 “So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.”

Have you ever suffered a long ongoing sickness or illness? Like you are sick for months or years? I have. Maybe you have too. And it is not such a pleasant experience. I have been afflicted for a long time that it really drains me physically and mentally and even spiritually. And not only that, my wife and the people around me are affected also. It made me very hard to think correctly concerning our Lord. In fact it becomes very hard to think clearly about anything! All spiritual matters can look gloomy at that time.

My hope starts to recede, faith starts to waiver and doubts start to rise. But thank God, He made a way and healed me. If my healing will only be based on my faith, I know I cannot be healed because at that time, my faith is very low. But praise God that He did not base my healing on my faith. He based it on Who He is. Trials that involve personal physical affliction affect the entire health of the body leading to an inability to think clearly. And that was what Satan was doing to Job in the verse above. But Job, unlike me, did not easily waiver. Though the Lord can easily understand if he did.
