Taking the Lord Jesus into Account

John 12:26 “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.”

Are you taking the Lord Jesus into account in your everyday life, or do you consider Him as irrelevant? Remember, in those areas of your life in which you have not considered Christ to be relevant, are the areas that you are still trying to be adequate without Him. You are trying to be the “cause” of your own “effect”. And if you are the cause, there will be nothing miraculous about the effect!

The Lord Jesus Christ wants to be God to you now, like all that the Father was to Him then. He wants you to be a vessel to Him now, like all that He was to the Father then! Have you learned to expose every situation to Him in humble dependence upon His adequacy, and simply say “Thank you”, and then to reckon with Him as you act to meet that situation?
