Heb. 11:6a “But without faith it is impossible to please Him.”
What most believers have today is not faith but positive thinking. Faith is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1).” Therefore, faith is a revelation. And revelations come from God alone (Mat. 16:17). Thus, the things that can please God are those things that come from Him which we do. Positive thinking on the other hand, makes one think that what he/she hopes for will come true even without seeing the evidence and even without having the assurance; or in other words, without having the revelation. So positive thinking is just a false assurance, the opposite of faith. Faith comes from God, positive thinking however, comes from the mind of man for he is the one who assures himself that the things he hoped for will happen.
Since it did not come from God, positive thinking is very dangerous. It is like building your house in the sand. And because positive thinking is not founded on the rock of revelation, when flood and rain comes, those houses built on positive thinking will be quickly destroyed. This is what is wrong with most of the believers today. They regard faith as positive thinking. They thought that when they want something, all they need to do is to think positively about those things and they think of it as faith already. IF YOU WANTED TO PLEASE GOD, YOU MUST HAVE FAITH, NOT POSITIVE THINKING.
