Luke 2:49 “Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
The verse above are first words of our Lord Jesus Christ ever recorded in the Bible. His main concern is to do our Father’s business. Do you have a family business?
Each one of us has business of one type or another. If you are not a businessman, probably you have a job in a company doing the business. We get busy doing this and doing that. But when the Lord returns, do you not want Him to find you interested, seeking, and carrying out HIS business? Well, I do. I think about so many people who became hopeless in this world because they don’t know our Lord. So I too, wanted to carry the Father’s business.
But that doesn’t mean I have to be frantically busy running around trying to do things for the Lord. It means that you are walking with Him saying “Lord, what do you have me to do today? What part would you like me to play in your business?” And He may lead you into something big… or He may say “How about helping your officemate and encouraging her… She is struggling down the road.” What He leads you to do is His business! But we do want to be about our Father’s business and not just our own business.
