Matthew 24:21 “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.”
I know a believer who wanted to be around during the Great Tribulation. Most of us are longing and looking for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ Who, according to 1 Thes. 1:10, will rescue us from the wrath to come. But this man also wanted to witness the Great Tribulation and the Antichrist. We should never diminish or think lightly of what the Great Tribulation will be like. As the Bible says:
Amos 5:18-20
“Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. Will not the day of the LORD be darkness, not light– pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness? “
