Judges 3:1-2 “These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience).”
For 50 pts. Fill in the blanks above. According to the Bible, what God said He would use the enemy for? (This is the lame version of hangman).
The Lord will never tempt us to do wrong (James 1:13), but like Israel He will use the imperfect situations we get ourselves into to test us. Now, testing here does not mean that He will test us because He do not know if we can pass the testing or not. The Lord knows everything. The test here is actually an opportunity to live the truth that we have received. And eventually, to teach us how to walk in faith. What will you do to the Truth called Jesus? Will you live Him or will you leave Him?
The Lord even uses false prophets to test whether we will follow the truth. (Deu. 13:3) David also knew (through his experience) of how the Lord tests the heart for integrity (1 Ch. 29:17) and spoke frequently of it in the Psalms (17:3, 26:2, 139:23) The testing of our Lord is always for our own good (James 1:3). You can imagine Job’s anguish in saying, “What is man that you are mindful of him, that you give him so much attention, that you examine him every morning and test him every moment (Job 7:18)?”
