2 Chro. 28:22 “In his time of trouble King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the LORD.”
Troubles and problems do not actually make a man, they REVEAL the man. If you are a gold, troubles will refine you and will reveal the true you. But if you are a charcoal or just a piece of wood, it will consume you. Troubles will push a person further away from, or towards the Lord. In the verse above, king Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the Lord!
When trouble strikes, some of us blame the Lord and we pushed Him further away from us. I can relate to this because I myself is doing it especially in the times where I can’t understand the situations in my life. But we should not be doing it (listen self!). Because there is no other way for the Lord to make us strong and make us a better person without troubles. And unlike what the prosperity gospel preachers are preaching, our life here on earth will not be everything is easy. He will have tribulations. The good thing is, we shall overcome them because the One that overcomes them will never leave us.
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
