Col 4:6 “Let your speech always be with grace, and seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”
I remember when I was just learning how to cook, I was taught by my mom. One time, I accidentally put too much salt on the chicken soup. I asked my mom how do I lose the saltiness in the soup. She replied “Just water it down. Add more water on it.”
The same in the spiritual. The salt here is the Truth. We must never water it down so that it will not lose its saltiness. Unfortunately a lot of “evangelism” today has amounted to “God loves you and has a great plan for your life” without telling them that He also hates sin and that we should repent from our ways. It’s just telling people about grace without telling them why they need it.
