Esther 6:3 “And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.”
For the background story, Mordecai saved the king from the assassination plan by two of his guards. But that act was not rewarded nor did Mordecai demand any rewards for it. But it was recorded in the books of records and it was read before the king at that night.
On the spiritual side, I like the fact that Mordecai didn’t bring up his good deed or ask for a reward at all. But his deed was recorded in a book and at the appropriate time, he was well rewarded. This is the same for us. We don’t need to make a big deal concerning what we do for the Lord. Or ask Him for anything in return while you are serving Him. Don’t be like most of the false pastors today who demand money because they are serving the Lord. Their reward will only be money. Our Lord God is a documenter and a rewarder. Everything is written in His books and every true deed will be rewarded on the day when the books will be opened. His reward is great compared to just money or material things in this world. Don’t settle for material gain.
