Esther 6:1 “On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.”
That night that the king could not sleep was the most eventful night in all the history of the kingdom of Persia because it is the turning point in the Book of Esther. It is the night that God will prove that He is still in control. It is the night that He will make a way to save His people – the Jews. Because the king could not sleep he ordered that the book of records be read before him. And there he found out that he was once saved by Mordecai the Jew and therefore, he wanted to reward him.
Have you noticed that God uses the little things in our lives to carry out His plan? Years before in Egypt God brought together a woman’s heart and a baby’s cry when Pharaoh’s daughter found the baby Moses in the Nile River. By this, He changed the destiny of the nation. Little things begin to pile up and reveal God’s hand in the glove of human circumstances. God is moving. He is overruling. It was no accident that Esther became queen. It was no accident that she presented herself to the king and found favor in his sight. It was no accident that the kings accepted her invitation to a banquet. Now he is unable to sleep, and it is no accident that it was read before him the saving acts of Mordecai.
This is the same with us. It was no accident that we have found favor in the eyes of our Lord. He is still in control. For Romans 8:28 says:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
