Rom. 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Today is my birthday. And in my 35 years of existence here, I can say that life here on Earth is very difficult to live. Especially Christian life. In fact, the word “difficult” would not even suffice to describe it. The right word would be “impossible.” Yes, truth be told, Christian life is impossible to live. Only Christ can live it. This fight is impossible to win. Only Christ can win it. But if there is one thing that I am very sure of, it is that our Lord is still in control. He is still the One sitting on the throne. And this is why “all things work together for good to them that love Him.”
And if this physical life will end one day, I am consoled with what King David said in Psalm 73:26:
“My flesh and my heart may faileth: BUT GOD is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever!”
My flesh and heart may fail, but I knew didn’t just stop there. It is followed by a precious ‘But God’. “But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!” This is the hope and truth that extends out into eternity that gives me peace today. He will be there for us even if our hearts fail and our flesh fades.
