Esther 4:13-14 “He sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that YOU HAVE COME TO ROYAL POSITION FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS?”
In the days of Queen Esther, a crisis was brewing upon the Jews. A law had been passed that allowed the destruction of the Jews on a particular upcoming day. The seriousness of the moment had been impressed upon Queen Esther by her uncle Mordecai. He told her, as we read above, that she shouldn’t think that she is immune from the troubles and asks whether she has been granted her royal position “for such a time as this?”
Where has God put you today? Are there people in your sphere of influence that you can see that maybe, just maybe, have been put there because they need help in some way and God wants to use you for them? Maybe it relates to where you live, where you work or the group of friends that you have. It could be the local Church that you fellowship with. Have you been put there for such a time as this? God does bring people upon our path if we are open to helping others. This will only increase as the days grow darker in the last days. It is easy to remain silent and not act as Esther was doing. But sometimes it requires a gentle (or not so gentle!) reminder from a ‘Mordecai’ in our life to see that we can actually make a difference in this situation. And who knows, maybe you have come into that position for such a time as this!
