Mat. 13:23 “But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Two years after the Jews started to return in Israel, in January of 1950, something unusual happened in Israel, it has experienced the largest snowfall in its history as a nation. After that, all sorts of flowers and plants that were not seen for many decades grew again once the snow had melted and cleared. You see, the seeds of those flowers were on the ground just waiting for the right time and conditions.
In the spiritual side, the Lord Jesus told us in the verse above that the Word of God is the seed that were sown in the hearts of men. Those seeds we sow may not show immediate results. But don’t let that discourage you from sharing the Word! Those seeds can still sprout given the right time and right condition. I have known people that have had the seed planted in their heart as a youngster and not make a commitment to the Lord Jesus until late in their life. But that initial seed was always there, waiting for the right time. The word of God (the spiritual seed) will produce results! This is what Isaiah 55:10-11 is telling us:
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater. So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
