Esther 9:1 “On the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, the edict commanded by the king was to be carried out. On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but now the tables were turned and the Jews got the upper hand over those who hated them.”

So D-Day had finally arrived. This was the day when the Jews could be legally killed for no particular reason in Susa. Yet, thanks to God’s intervention it was now a day when the Jews could legally fight and kill those who would seek to harm them. And as we read in the passage above, “the tables were turned and the Jews got the upper hand over those who hated them.” Fast forward 2500 years later in our day, this is still the case! Today, more decrees are coming forth for the total destruction of the Jewish race. Crazy. Obviously, we are dealing with far more than racial hatred here. There are unseen spiritual principalities and powers that maintain this never-ending hatred.

But the Master table-turner has always been with the Jews. He has been doing it for thousands of years and isn’t about to stop any day soon! It is God who thwarts the plans of the enemy and gains victory in the lives of His people from the clutches of despair and defeat.

Do you have anything that looks like it is about to swallow you up? Do you have any area where the enemy has been gaining what looks like a sure victory? Then thank God again. Don’t beg. Don’t plead. Don’t moan. Thank God again that He is able to turn the tables and bring hope from despair and life out of death. May the name of Jesus increase greatly in your life as His acts in the lives of His people are seen.
