2 Cor. 3:2 “You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.”
The word “epistle” here means a letter or a book. We are a book. All human beings are books. But only those who walked with the Lord are the ones authored by our Lord Christ Jesus. He is the author and the finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). And He is the One Who is still working on us today (Phil. 2:13, Phil. 1:6). Right now, He is still writing us. And one day, He will be fully written and reflected in each page of our book.
But just like literal books, not all are authored by our Lord. Not all of us contained Christ. Some of us are authored by ourselves. Those books whose author is not the Lord, and whose works are not the working of the Lord, are certainly not His. One can’t read the Lord in them and He is not reflected in each page of their books. One day, these kinds of books will be thrown in the fire to be burned. So the questions are: WHO IS THE AUTHOR OF YOUR BOOK? IS IT YOU? OR IS IT THE LORD?
