Ruth 1:7 “So she departed from the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her; and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah.”
At last, after 10 years of wandering and suffering in the world, Naomi decided to return home, to the Promised Land. Finally, a good decision is made. We need to learn from this. You know, being a child of God like Naomi, we never belong to the world. We may try to fit in the world but we will always fail because it is not our home. Our Home is the Word of God. Just like the prodigal son, we must always be ready to return home.
If we compared Naomis’ life with the prodigal son story in Luke 15:11-32, we will see the following: Both left home and took all they had in search for better fortune in the world. Both journeyed to a foreign country, living among pagans and ended up losing everything. Both recognized their failure and their need to return home; both came home with nothing and very sorrowful. Neither considered themselves worthy of being called the same person that had left. And finally, both would be greatly surprised with how their Father would bless them after returning. SO NO MATTER WHAT, ALWAYS RETURN HOME!
