The Restrainer

2 Thes. 2:6-7 “And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.”

There is a “Restrainer” that prevents Satan and his demons from doing all that they want from this world. This Restrainer is no other than the Holy Spirit of Christ who dwells in each member of the Church. For the sake of the children of God, they are prevented from doing what they want. But one day, when the Church Age is finished, this Restrainer will no longer prevent Satan from doing what he wanted to do in this world.

The Bible told us that Satan is a murderer and a destroyer from the beginning (John 8:44, 10:10). He loves to destroy those created by God. One can only imagine what will happen to this world if Satan is not prevented from doing what he wants to do. But blessed are those who will be raptured before the restrainer will be taken away. They will not experience them.
